The activity of research in the Centre ranges from different areas of the Biomedicine and it aims to discoveries and applications that bring to the improvement of the people health and treatment.
The researches are brought in collaboration with Italian and world institutions. The main research areas include the neurosciences, the vascular pathophysiology, the iron homeostasis, the epigenomics and the gene-nutrient interactions, the autoimmune diseases, the erythropoiesis, the biology of the staminal cells, the onchology, the fragilising diseases of the skeleton, the geriatrics, the nephrology, the metabolism diseases and the translational surgery. The groups who do researches in these areas are available in the LURM website section called Research Groups.

As illustrated in the picture, the scientific publications of the groups who belong to the Centre are in continuous increase. These scientific publications are recorded in PubMed. They contribute to the positioning of the University of Verona among the world excellences in the medical field.

The researches led in the LURM attract fundings from national and international institutions (the main are the MIUR, the Health Minister, the European Union, the Veneto Region, the so-called Cassa di Risparmio di Verona, Vicenza, Belluno Ancona, the AIRC- Italian Association of Cancer Research, Telethon, National Institute of Health (NIH) – U.S.A. .
